Kanan Seventh Day Baptist Church, Manipur, with support is able to minister to its community with rice and other food items. Their community in northeast India is experiencing civil unrest that resulted in food shortage. Our SDB brethren have taken on a small hunger relief project to help those affected in that locale. Because of your support the Missionary Society was able to send $ 357 to play a part in this project projecting to cost $ 430. Most of this money they used to get rice for distribution. It will take a great amount of resource to provide food for their entire area and spread the gospel but this small group of SDBs is doing what they can.
Receiving the funds they wrote the following:
“Thank you so much for the relief fund for us, it is a great thing for us as we are in a hard situation because of the civil unrest happening in Manipur. We are grateful to the Missionary Society who support us and help us to continue our Mission work in Kanan. We plan to share our funds to those needed around our town to help them in the name of our Ministry as a Mission work” – Your brethren, David Ruatmuansang Secretary, Seventh Day Baptist Kanan, Manipur.
“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink…” – Matthew 25:35
