MISSION TO EGYPT, UGANDA, & CAMEROON

Writer: Missionary Society UpdatesMissionary Society Updates

The mission trip to Egypt which had to be postponed from January 2022, will now take place, March 22-28. Pastor Garfield Miller, Director of Outreach for the SDB Missionary Society, will embark on the trip with Pastor Gordon Lawton and his wife Linda. Linda will minister to children, many of whom have not been able to attend school, and also seek to empower women as they struggle to find their place in a new land.

Pastors Garfield and Gordon will share in an evangelism program, facilitate community youth engagement through a community soccer competition, continue to conduct ministry training, and get an update on the bakery that was financed primarily through the Missionary Society. The majority of the Seventh Day Baptists in both Egypt and Ethiopia are of South Sudanese origin, and they are seeking to reach beyond their ethnicity to proclaim the Gospel to all communities in their adopted country.

Prior to going to Egypt, Pastor Garfield will travel to Uganda and Cameroon, accompanied by Pastor Andy Samuels, Chief Executive Director of the Missionary Society. In both of those places, strengthening the spiritual and doctrinal foundation of the churches, will be priorities for the team. Additionally, in Uganda, plans for a major sustainable project will be advanced.

Prayer and other support are requested for these missions, as preparation is done for what is anticipated to be another fulfilling time of ministry, bringing glory to our Lord, and actively advancing His kingdom.

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations…” Matthew 28:19
