Daniel Lubuto, leader of the Uganda SDB Conference wrote that the children have gone back to schools. Thanks to your help a lot of needs were met including books now and initially with medical attention, food, mosquito nets and temporary shelter. They have been placing the orphans in SDB foster homes and helping as they can with support and supervision of the children. Sadly, in a community that was already dealing with many orphans, the flooding pushed the number that they are trying to house to more than 60 under the age of 10. Many have no identified next of kin so the congregation is considering the Church as the next of kin. Currently they are divided among 9 temporary households, with 5 in Daniel’s own home. They see these young people as their future community & many are professing believers that will be the future of the Church.
Daniel says that the immediate response of donations was a huge blessing that helped them to address critical life threatening issues like parasites, starvation, and sickness from the loss of homes and families. Now they look to the continued well-being of those lives that have been saved and their development as followers of Christ. Please pray with us that God will provide what they need to minister to these children.
“In our last meeting a vote of thanks was passed; we couldn’t do without you.” – Nsubuga Daniel Lubuto (General Secretary)
“And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up”. – Galatians 6:9
