Jamaica Hurricane Update Video

As relief efforts continue to help the Jamaican community navigate the impact of Hurricane Melissa, early estimates suggest that rebuilding the damaged Seventh Day Baptist church buildings will cost more than US $100,000. Please continue to pray, to give, and to send items to displaced and hurting families.

Immediate Needs:

Because much of the island’s infrastructure has been severely damaged, the most immediate needs are for shipped supplies, rather than funds intended for purchasing items locally.

Shipping directly to Jamaica: If you can donate items and ship them personally, please address packages to: Jamaica Seventh Day Baptist Conference, Inc. C/O Pastor Kevin Carter29 Charles Street, Kingston, Jamaica. The Conference can receive donated items without customs duties or consumption tax. Cash donations are welcome to help cover transportation costs and may be sent through the Missionary Society’s donation button below.

Long Term Needs:

The main need in the coming months will be rebuilding. In response, the World Federation, CSADR, and the Missionary Society will be collecting funds to help with rebuilding some of the damaged churches. A part of this funding will be allocated to immediate needs (such as the transportation of the goods listed above), but the majority will be used in the rebuilding process.
