In addition to all the challenges related to the current global pandemic, our SDB churches in Burundi are also wrestling with significant government demands pertaining to their facilities. Church buildings are required to meet a certain qualitative standard, and that has forced the closure of six SDB churches, so far. These churches are at various stages of building projects, and churches which rent their meeting space, are looking to purchase land on which to build permanent structures.
Thank you for helping our Burundi Conference to complete the first phase of re-opening the six closed churches. We are now into the next phase of this project, which is to help seven churches complete their building projects thus satisfying the required government standards. About $6,700 are needed for this phase. Help is also needed for the ongoing support of a church plant in Cairo, Egypt. This group, made up of South Sudanese refugees, continues to rent a facility for their weekly Sabbath Services, and could use some help with the monthly rental amount of $100, the cost of utilities, and the provision of study materials.
Your prayers and your financial support will go a long way towards SDB church buildings in Burundi returning to fully functional ministries, and SDB ministry in Egypt progressing towards growth and expansion.
