INDIA AFTER THE STORM

The ardent support of SDB brothers and sisters has ensured that the Missionary Society could respond to the need for food, water, and blankets for those that have suffered from the cyclonic storms impacting India, Aug 2018.

Hundreds of persons have lost their lives and thousands of homes were destroyed. This has left millions of Indians homeless and in need of basic supplies. There is no SDB church in Kerala, the most extreme disaster area, but we have four congregations in Penugonda and Palakollu villages in East Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh state, that were badly affected by flooding. Here is a word of gratitude from a person who benefitted from relief sent:

“…I don’t know how to say my gratitude and I have no word to convey my thanks for this help. We are greatly indebted to you. I pray that our Lord bless you more and he may grant you sound health and longevity. Thank you.”Relief Beneficiary

“There will always be poor people in the land. Therefore I command you to be openhanded toward your fellow Israelites who are poor and needy in your land.” – Deuteronomy 15:11 (NIV)
