Every year, the SDB Conference Fun Run gives us an opportunity to move together for a greater purpose. We run, walk, skip, and cheer each other on, knowing that every lap completed and every dollar raised helps advance ministry around the world.
This year’s Fun Run supports Mission Win One, a global evangelism and discipleship initiative developed by the Seventh Day Baptist World Federation Evangelism & Discipleship Committee. While the Fun Run may last only 30 minutes, the impact of the resources it supports could extend for years to come.
A Mission for Every Believer
When many people think about evangelism, they picture pastors, missionaries, or specially gifted church leaders. Mission Win One begins with a different assumption: that every believer has a role to play in sharing the Gospel.
The program's core strategy is simple and challenging. Every Seventh Day Baptist is encouraged to prayerfully identify one person and intentionally invest in that relationship with the goal of leading them to Christ. The person may be a family member, friend, neighbor, coworker, or someone else God places in their path. The vision is not built around large events or complicated programs. It is built around ordinary believers faithfully sharing the hope they have found in Jesus.
As the Mission Win One booklet explains, evangelism and discipleship are inseparable parts of Christ's Great Commission. Jesus did not simply tell His followers to make converts. He commanded them to make disciples, teaching others to follow Him as well.

Why This Matters
In a letter introducing the program to Seventh Day Baptist Conferences around the world, the Evangelism & Discipleship Committee noted that while the world continues to change rapidly, Christ's call to proclaim the Gospel and make disciples remains as urgent and compelling as ever. Many churches desire growth. Many believers want to share their faith but do not know where to begin. Mission Win One provides a practical framework that helps turn good intentions into faithful action.
Participants are encouraged to:
Pray consistently for one person.
Build meaningful relationships.
Share the Gospel intentionally.
Walk alongside new believers as they grow in Christ.
The goal is not simply to increase numbers. The goal is transformed lives and growing disciples.
Beyond Evangelism: A Pathway for Discipleship
One of the most significant features of Mission Win One is that it does not stop when someone accepts Christ. The program includes a comprehensive Discipleship Training Manual that provides a structured pathway for spiritual growth. The manual covers foundational topics such as salvation, prayer, God's Word, fellowship, spiritual growth, sharing your faith, and living a Spirit-filled life.
This reflects a biblical conviction at the heart of the program: evangelism and discipleship belong together. New believers need encouragement, teaching, and support as they learn to follow Jesus. The manual equips churches and individual members to help provide that guidance.
The ultimate vision is multiplication. Disciples become disciple-makers who help others grow in faith, creating a cycle of spiritual reproduction that strengthens churches and expands God's Kingdom.
A Global Opportunity
Mission Win One was originally implemented in 2017 and has now been adapted for global use by the Seventh Day Baptist World Federation. The resource has already been prepared for distribution internationally, with translations underway to make it accessible in diverse cultural and linguistic contexts. This means the impact of this year's Fun Run extends far beyond a single congregation, conference, or country.
Funds raised will help promote, distribute, and implement Mission Win One resources among Seventh Day Baptist churches around the world. They will support efforts to equip believers, strengthen discipleship, and encourage churches as they engage in evangelism within their own communities.
Running Toward Something Bigger
It would be easy to think of the Fun Run as just another conference activity. In reality, it is an opportunity to invest in something that touches the very heart of Christ's mission for the Church.
When you participate, you are helping place practical evangelism and discipleship tools into the hands of believers who want to faithfully share the Gospel and nurture new disciples. You are helping churches move from hoping for growth to intentionally pursuing it. You are helping believers around the world answer Christ's call to make disciples.
And perhaps most importantly, you are helping create opportunities for someone, somewhere, to hear the Gospel and begin a lifelong journey with Jesus.
Reflection
If every believer were prayerfully committed to reaching one person with the Gospel, what impact could that have in our churches, communities, and around the world?
Prayer Point
Pray that God would use Mission Win One to inspire believers to share their faith boldly, strengthen churches in discipleship, and draw many people into a saving relationship with Jesus Christ.
Reflection Question
Who is one person God may be calling you to intentionally pray for, encourage, and share the hope of Christ with?
