At General Conference, the 5K run/walk will be on Friday morning, Aug 2. This event promises to provide multiple benefits for participants: exercise, healthy interactions, and the opportunity to support a most worthy cause. Funds raised will go towards helping orphans in Africa. With donations, the Society has been supporting orphan ministries operated by SDB Conferences in places such as Kenya, Uganda, and Burundi. These ministries provide food and medication to orphanages, resources to start sustainable projects and a year’s diminishing support to families who open their homes to children orphaned by famine, diseases, disasters, mishaps, and civil wars. You can also help provide the benefits of a home to orphans by paying for someone else to participate at Conference if you are not able to.
