God is bigger than COVID-19. That is not merely a cliché. It is a reality. If you live in the world, the chances are your life has had some significant disruption over the last two weeks or so. As a result of the corona pandemic, a wave of fear, insecurity, uncertainty, and distress has hit the world on some level. This coronavirus crisis will probably be the most significant historical event of our lifetime. It has interrupted the rhythms of our normal, everyday life. We foresee extensive ministry opportunities and open doors because of this predicament.
At the Missionary Society, we know that SDBs around the world are being affected by this intrusion. In response, our posture is two-fold. On the one hand we are humbly seeking the face of our Almighty God, asking Him for mercy, and healing, and deliverance. If He is not good for times like these, then He is not good for anything. This is a time for repentance at every level; in the church and in the world. On the other hand, we are equipping ourselves to be God’s channels and vessels to reach a world that desperately needs the redemption and reconciliation offered and provided by our Savior, Jesus Christ.
Be a pillar of hope in this season of despair. Anchor your soul in the haven of rest. And be on the frontlines for the mighty acts of God. He is indeed bigger than COVID-19.
“The Lord’s hand was with them, and a great number of people believed and turned to the Lord.” – Acts 11:21
