COVID-19 has forced many of us to make adjustments in our lives; some that we may have been delighted to make, and maybe many others, which we are not so thrilled about. The Bible tells us, “Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.” – Prov. 19:21
Like most others, the SDB Missionary Society has had to adjust some of its plans. We canceled all our travel plans for the month of April, and that is likely to be maintained through the end of May. In addition, the annual session of the SDB General Conference, USA & Canada scheduled for 2020 has been canceled. So, how do we remain effective in carrying out the Great Commission by adjusting our plans? The coronavirus has generated more than normal requests for financial aid from our overseas conferences. Our budget has to be adjusted in response to those cries for relief. During the week, which should have been the SDB General Conference gathering, we will sponsor a virtual 5K to raise funds for more corona relief. Details to come.
Since we cannot travel right now, our Directors, Pastors Andy Samuels and Garfield Miller are making themselves available to visit with your church virtually. At your invitation, we can “zoom” into your worship service and preach or teach or share in any other way. Will you adjust with us, as we keep embracing God’s purpose?
