SDBs in Andhra Pradesh and Manipur, India have received financial assistance from the Missionary Society to help with relief efforts, due to the corona pandemic. India is on lockdown, and that drives up the prices of basic food items. Pastor Paul Chukka, President of the SDB Conference in Andhra Pradesh, reports that the funds received were used to purchase rice, provisions, oil, and onions, which were and distributed to ten SDB pastors, many SDB church members, and people within the church communities. There are Nine SDB churches in Andhra Pradesh. So far, thankfully, there have been no reports of SDBs infected with the virus.
Our brethren in India are very grateful for the assistance received. The number of cases of people infected by the virus continues to increase there, as in so many other places around the world. More help will be needed, as requests have been coming from SDBs in other countries. We are doing our best to respond affirmatively to those requests.
This is certainly a time when those who are able, are called upon by the Lord, to help those in need. Along with prayers, let us continue to give generously to the work of the Gospel, as well as to the global humanitarian relief needs.
“And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.” – Hebrews 13:16
